About Kinsale Harbour Cruises

 

Jerome, the owner of the ‘Spirit of Kinsale’ was a fisherman for 28 years; he was born and grew up on the Old Head of Kinsale. He had made the decision to retire from fishing and was looking for a business that would work well with his experience and his interests.

 

In 2015 Jerome produced  a local history publication named 'No Flowers on a Sailor's Grave: Shipwrecks of Kinsale and Courtmacsherry'. This is available for sale aboard the 'Spirit of Kinsale' as well as in all the local bookshops.

 

He studied full time Heritage Management at Coláiste Stiofán Naofa, Cork. An opportunity arose for him to take over ‘The Spirit of Kinsale’, this was an ideal opportunity to combine his maritime experience and his passion for heritage, culture and wildlife.

 

He graduated in Arts at University College Cork taking Archaeology and Celtic Civilisations and has completed a Masters Degree in local history.
